Suggest a New Project

The Law Commission of Ontario invites you to submit a project proposal at any time.

Proposal Guidelines:

To ensure that our work best serves you, we ask that you follow these guidelines:

  • Must be about provincial law
  • Must be consistent with at least one of the Law Commission of Ontario’s mandates to make recommendations to:
    1. Make the legal system more relevant, accessible and efficient
    2. Simplify or clarify the law
    3. Use technology to increase access to justice
  • Can be about a focused legal issue or a broader social issue
  • Must address an issue we’ve not yet received a proposal for (view a list of proposals we’ve already received here)

Please include the following information in your proposal:

  • Description of proposed project
  • Why you think this area of law needs to be changed
  • Why the Law Commission of Ontario is the right body to take on this project
