Mohan Sharma, the current MAG LCO Counsel in Residence, has been recognized for his volunteer contributions through the OPS Spirit Award.
In particular, the award notes Mohan’s role as co-founder and former co-chair of the South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario and his participation in the TriAdventure, 3-day athletic fundraising event that includes a 15 km run, a 3 km swim, a 15 km canoe, and a 140 km cycle from north of Lake Simcoe back to Toronto, with 100% of all funds raised donated to charities in Africa, particularly ones that support people and communities impacted by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. As Mohan explains, “I participate in the TriAdventure because I can…When not enough is being done by the world to assist a continent of people, I can’t sit back and do nothing. Plus, I’m hard pressed to think of a better way to help them by participating in athletic challenges with other like-minded people!”
