LCO Launches Public Consultation on the Law as it Affects Older Adult
The LCO has launched a public consultation on the law as it affects older adults. This is the first step in a multi-year project that will lead to a new approach to this area of the law. A Consultation Paper is now available, and submissions will be accepted until Monday, July 7, 2008. 


Project Launch: Our Consultation Paper on the Charging of Fees for Cashing Government Cheques was launched on March 26, 2008 and sent to over 100 stakeholders for comment.  Submissions are requested by June13, 2008.  Lauren Bates, the LCO Staff Lawyer, is heading this project.

New Research Advisory Board Member : Professor Kai Hildebrandt, of the University of Windsor Department of Communication Studies has been chosen by the Research Advisory Board as the representative of a discipline other than Law.


New Research Advisory Board Member: Janice Vauthier, a practitioner with Vauthier, Paivalainen in Thunder Bay has been chosen by the LCO Research Advisory Board as a representative of the private bar.


Osgoode Hall Law School students can now satisfy Osgoode’s Public Interest Requirement through a placement with the LCO. Interested students can inquire at the LCO or follow the Osgoode placement procedure for placement during the summer or academic terms.
