Forty Years of Clinical Education and Social Justice at Osgoode Hall Law School: Colloquium and Celebration

Join LCO Executive Director Dr. Patricia Hughes, on Friday September 23, 2011, as she presents at the Forty Years of Clinical Education and Social Justice at Osgoode Hall Law School: Colloquium and Celebration. She will explore how the way lawyers engage with undocumented residents represents a certain manifestation of “ethical lawyering.”

This year, Osgoode Hall Law School will be marking the 40th anniversary of its partnerships with Parkdale Community Legal Services and the Community Legal Aid Services Program, which are among the first community legal clinics established in Ontario. The anniversary provides a catalyst to hold a colloquium with experts across Canada exploring the future of clinical legal education, with a particular focus on the continuing role of poverty law clinics in fostering ethical lawyering practices while providing access to justice to underserved populations. The Colloquium and Celebration will be held at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University.
