The LCO’s multi-year project on Legal Capacity, Decision-Making and Guardianship, led by Senior Lawyer Lauren Bates, was recently profiled in the July 17 edition of the Toronto Star. The article, written by Star Columnist Carol Goar, discusses some of the considerations involved when undertaking a review of the province’s consent and capacity laws. The article also discusses some of the alternatives being examined by the LCO as part of its efforts to improve legislation in this area and in order make the law more accessible for older adults and persons with disabilities more generally.
