There have been quite a few changes to the staff and board members at the LCO this summer.

Laura Caruso joined the LCO on June 16, 2014 as the new Executive Assistant. Laura takes over for Janice Williams who has retired. As Executive Assistant, Laura is the primary contact and liaison for communications between the Executive Director and the LCO’s stakeholders, among other responsibilities, and manages the day-to-day operations of the LCO.

Also on June 16, 2014, Jason Balgopal replaced Judy Mungovan as the LCO-Ministry of the Attorney General Counsel in Residence. Jason works with MAG as an Assistant Crown Attorney, and will be spending his one-year secondment with us as head of the Class Actions project.

Dean Camille Cameron of Windsor University’s Faculty of Law has succeeded Professor Adam Dodek of the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law as the Ontario Law Deans’ appointee to the LCO’s Board of Governors, effective July 1, 2014. Professor Dodek had joined the Board in July 2011.

The Honourable Stephen Goudge, who has served on our Board since September 2009 as the judiciary’s appointee, will take over for Gwen Boniface as the Law Foundation of Ontario’s appointee, effective September 2014. Our new judiciary appointee will be appointed in the near future.
