During his term as the Osgoode Hall Law School LCO Scholar in Residence (winter 2015), Professor Gus Van Harten continued his empirical work on regulatory change and litigation risk in Ontario. He has since contributed to this area of law through several publications, including an article on investment treaties and the vetting of internal government decisions to appear in the Journal of International Dispute Settlement, and a number of presentations, including a series of presentations in Brussels to members of the European Parliament and others interested in the relationship between trade law, investor-state arbitration and government decision-making. He has also linked his research with government decision-making about climate change.
