The Law Commission of Ontario (LCO) has extended its deadline for receipt of submissions on its Vulnerable Workers and Precarious Work Project to May 16, 2011.

This Project will review the nature of precarious work, the identity of vulnerable workers, the existing protections for employees engaged in these forms of paid work, the limitations of the protective legislation, the challenges and difficulties of enforcing rights under existing legislation, the impact of precarious work on the daily lives of vulnerable workers and some of the potential responses. The LCO has posted a Consultation Paper and more detailed Background Paper for this Project, that is available online.

We encourage all interested parties, including workers, employers, businesses, community activists, academics and government, to share their views on the issues raised in these Papers and any other related issues.
