Justice Fairburn was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice in December 2014, after which she sat as a trial judge in Brampton. She was appointed a judge of the Court of Appeal for Ontario in July 2017. She has been and remains actively involved in legal education, both within and outside of Canada, including with the National Judicial Institute. Justice Fairburn replaces Justice Harry LaForme, who recently retired from the Bench and the LCO Board of Governors. We thank Justice LaForme for his dedication to and involvement in the Law Commission of Ontario during his tenure.
